Product Safety & Quality Control Policy

[Last updated 02/06/2025 by Michael Pista]

The Cardiology Greeting Cards UK Ltd is committed to producing safe, high-quality greeting cards and printed products that meet the expectations of our customers and reflect our values of integrity, craftsmanship and care.

We take quality seriously- from design to production to delivery- and this policy outlines the steps we take to maintain high standards, both now and as we grow.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All products sold under The Cardiology Greeting Cards UK Ltd
  • In-house production (current and future)
  • Any third-party materials or services used in the making or delivery of our products

Design & Production Standards

All products are:

  • Hand illustrated by our in house team
  • Reviewed for clarity, tone and quality before production
  • Printed using professional-grade materials, either by third parties or in house
  • Packaged with care to prevent damage in transit

As we transition to in house printing, we will introduce further print-stage quality control, including:

  • Colour consistency checks
  • Alignment and trimming verification
  • Paper and ink inspections
  • A final checklist prior to dispatch

Use of Third Party Suppliers

We source envelopes, packaging and (currently) printed cards from trusted UK suppliers.

Each partner is selected for:

  1. Consistent quality
  2. Ethical sourcing practices
  3. Reliable delivery times

We reserve the right to change or audit suppliers to maintain standards.

Materials & Environmental Considerations

Wherever possible, we commit to:

  • Using FSC-certified and/or recycled card stock
  • Selecting recyclable or minimalist packaging
  • Reducing unnecessary plastic in our supply chain
  • Printing to order or in small batches to avoid waste

Our eco-conscious practices will evolve alongside our production capacity- and are a key part of our long-term growth plans.

Product Safety

Although our products are not classified as regulated or hazardous, we maintain standards to ensure:

  • Products are free from defects that could pose a risk
  • Packaging is safe, clean and appropriate for handling\
  • Products are not designed or marketed in a way that could be misleading or offensive

Our cards are not intended for children and should be kept out of reach of young children if packaging includes small components (e.g. cello wraps).

Monitoring & Continous Improvement

We use a formal Quality Checklist during order preparation to maintain consistency.

We also track:

  1. Customer feedback
  2. Print inconsistencies
  3. Packaging issues

All concerns are reviewed by the founding team, and necessary changes are implemented promptly.
